  • Ballroom Dancing

    Every Friday from 3:00-4:00 pm: Join instructor Lynn Pitz for both instruction and recreation while dancing with your own stars!

  • The Alexander Technique

    Every Thursday in October from 3:00-4:00 pm: Instructor Kim Clay helps participants learn this popular wellness technique. Class will not meet on October 16th.

  • Games, Cards & Conversation

    Every Tuesday from 2:00-3:30 pm: Join friends old and new for card games, board games and fun conversation.

  • Chair Yoga

    Every Saturday at 11:00 am: Chair yoga is a healthy way to maintain strength and flexibility and is done while seated or standing with support.

  • Travels in Tibet

    Wednesday, October 8th at 3:00 pm: Board member Joe Breed will discuss his recent trip to Tibet. This is Mr. Breed's latest presentation in his fascinating series of travelogues.

  • Dental Care Seminar

    October 16th from 3:00-4:00 pm: Dr. Rima Bachiman-Sehl of the New York University Dental School will give a presentation on dental care and the affordable options available for seniors here in New York City.

  • Bard Graduate Center Tour

    Friday, October 24th at 11:00 am: The Healthy Aging Program has arranged a guided tour of the Bard Graduate Center's current exhibition about Thomas Hope (1763-1839), a Regency era designer, at their gallery on West 86th Street. Space is limited so please call for reservations.

  • Horizon Concerts Music Series

    Wednesday, November 12th at 3:00 pm: Health Advocates hosts another in a great series of classical music concerts by Horizon Concerts.

  • "To Your Health" Series

    A variety of non-traditional healing and health practices will be discussed and taught in this innovative program series. Beginning in November, classes in Reiki energy healing will inaugurate the program—check for updates as the schedule is firmed up.

  • 2008 Jazz on the Terrace

    On Monday, September 22, the Board and friends of Health Advocates gathered at the Three West Club for an evening of music and merriment under the stars with a garden supper, raising funds to support our many programs and services that benefit New York City's seniors.

  • 2008 New York Treasures Gala

    Health Advocates honored Sally Ball and Huyler C. Held as 2008 New York Treasures at a Gala Reception on May 20, 2008.

  • Scottish Travelogue

    On March 26, 2008, Joe Breed (Executive Director of St. Margaret's House and a member of Health Advocates' Board of Directors) delivered an entertaining presentation about his travels in Scotland.

  • Horizon Concerts

    Health Advocates presented Horizon Concerts performing a variety of classical music on January 9, 2008.

  • Jazz on the Terrace 2007

    The 3rd annual Jazz on the Terrace event, featuring music by Steve Doyle and his band, was held on September 11th, 2007. The evening was a great success; our thanks to Kate Doyle and the Benefit Committee, and to the staff of the Three West Club, for all their hard work.

  • 2007 New York Treasures Luncheon

    Mrs. Evelyn Angevine Silla and Senator Roy M. Goodman were honored as New York Treasures at Health Advocates' 2007 Treasures Luncheon on April 18, 2007, at the 3 West Club on 51st Street. Mrs. Silla and Senator Goodman have each given many years of dedicated service in both private and public life in support of our communities.

  • 2006 Jazz on the Terrace

    140 eager supporters of Health Advocates gathered under the stars at Carnegie East House for the 2nd annual Jazz on the Terrace event benefiting our Community Volunteer Program. Our thanks go to Steve Doyle for his band's delightful music and to everyone, attending or not, who gave generously to this important program supporting seniors at Carnegie East House and in the wider community.

  • 2006 New York Treasures

    Josephine N. McFadden and Chester Burger were honored at The New York Treasures Luncheon on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at 3 West 51st Street Club. Ms. McFadden and Mr. Burger have contributed greatly to the community through the years.

  • Opera Benefit

    The Brooklyn Opera Company performed Donizetti's Elixir of Love to an enthusiastic audience on February 11, 2006, at 3 West 51st Street.

  • Jazz On The Terrace

    JAZZ ON THE TERRACE was held Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Carnegie East House. The event included dinner cooked out on the terrace and promoted Health Advocates’ new volunteer program. Steve Doyle and his band entertained us with their lively music.

  • 2005 Treasures Luncheon

    Health Advocates honored Marcella Maxwell and Eugene A. Hegy, Jr. as their 2005 New York Treasures at the Annual Treasures Luncheon on Wednesday, June 1, 2005. The luncheon was held at 3 West 51st Street from 12 to 2 pm.
