| CONGREGATE CARE | Generic
term for senior citizen housing with services.

| ADULT HOME | Licensed in New York
State as of 1998 by Department of Health (DOH); provides all meals and personal
care services. Does not provide nursing or medical services. The residents
reside in private or semi-private rooms.

| ENRICHED HOUSING | Same as adult home
except the residents reside in individual apartment units. Only one meal
and housekeeping services are mandated, but no personal care. More services
maybe provided by owner/ sponsor/ operator. Licensed by the New York State
Department of Health (DOH).

| ASSISTED LIVING | Combines enriched
housing with nursing care services. Licensed by the NYS Department of Health
(DOH).

| CONTINUING CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY (CCRC) | Provides a variety
of housing alternatives for the elderly from independent living to assisted
living. The enriched housing and the assisted living components require
licensing. May also include automatic transfer to skilled nursing facility
affiliated with or owned by sponsor of CCRC

| LIFE CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY | Provides the full
spectrum of housing alternatives for the elderly including nursing home.
The nursing home services are included in the fee. Licensed by DSS, DOH
and the New York State Department of Insurance (DI). The fee(s) must be
approved by the licensing agencies.

| INDEPENDENT LIVING | Housing for the well
elderly. Can provide support services including meal(s), housekeeping, recreational
services, building and ground maintenance. These facilities can be apartments,
condos, cooperatives, individual cottages, etc.

| SUPPORTIVE HOUSING | Generic term for senior
citizen housing with a variety of services added on an optional or contractual
basis.
