Health Advocates Harvest Lunch Brings Community Together

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, Health Advocates for Older People hosted its annual Harvest Lunch, a much-loved tradition that brought together more than 150 community members and volunteers for an afternoon of warmth and celebration. The event was held at the parish of St. Vincent Ferrer & St. Catherine of Siena, which generously hosted the gathering once again.

The program included remarks from Board President Gary Heinze who offered his favorite words of wisdom “Don’t postpone happiness” and Assemblymember Alex Bores who celebrated with guests and shared his commitment to supporting the needs of older New Yorkers while guests enjoyed a holiday meal of turkey and all the trimmings. Volunteer, Kate Guino capped off the afternoon with our second annual Harvest Lunch Trivia. With 18 teams, there was stiff competition and the Super Seniors who answered all but one question correctly came out on top.

Health Advocates’ Harvest lunch is so special because it fosters connection, engagement, and partnership. To this end, it is important to thank those who made the event a success including:

  • Memorial Sloan Kettering, which generously sponsored the entire event and organized a group of 15 volunteers to set up and serve the meal.

  • The Health Advocates staff for their work behind the scenes.

  • Volunteers from the Health Advocates community, the Junior League, St. Vincent Ferrer School, Fordham Prep, Regis High School, and the Brearley School, and

  • The Health Advocates Board of Directors for its continued leadership and support.

Health Advocates extends sincere thanks to everyone who attended and contributed, helping make the 2025 Harvest Lunch a warm and memorable celebration.
