Jazz in the Garden is a Big Win!

More than 130 friends and supporters gathered on Wednesday, June 10 for Jazz in the Garden, Health Advocates for Older People’s annual spring celebration. Held in the beautiful garden of The Brick Church on East 92nd Street, the evening was graced with warm weather, great music, and wonderful company.

Guests enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres, a signature Elderflower Spritz cocktail, and live jazz from the talented Ethan Mann Trio, whose music set a relaxed and joyful tone for the night. As the evening coincided with Game 4 of the NBA Finals, there was even a chance to shoot a few hoops in honor of the New York Knicks!

We are grateful to all those who helped to make this event a success. These include our event Co-Chairs: Kate Gunio and Jennifer Wittmer; committee members: Grace Huang, Sarah Jaffe, Lisa Johnson, Anne McQuaid, Elizabeth Rowe, and Michelle Stent; volunteers from the Health Advocates community as well as Regis High School and Brearley.

The event was made possible by a number of generous sponsors including the Butters Family Foundation, Gary Heinze & Judy Friedman, Richard Johnson, Pete & Louisa Palmer, Angelica Romano, Amy Rose, Elizabeth & Davide Rowe, and Lisa & Lee Schalop.

Jazz in the Garden is one of two annual fundraising events that help make our work possible. Each year, Health Advocates serves more than 1,500 older New Yorkers through free wellness classes, educational programs, cultural outings, and community-building events. We also provide a comprehensive home safety and fall prevention service, along with a no-cost medical equipment exchange.

Thanks to your support, all of these services remain free of charge. We’re honored to celebrate with such a vibrant community and look forward to many more evenings like this one.
